Bruno Mars could miss this year’s Brit Awards following his arrest for cocaine possession last year.

The ‘Grenade’ star recently escaped jail time in relation to the charges, but could still be grounded in the US if the judge finds him guilty, the News of the World reports.

The singer is nominated for International Breakthrough Act at the ceremony and was due to perform at the event as part of the annual collaborations.

A source said: “This is causing huge panic in the Mars camp. His debut single and album have had instant commercial success but this could put a real spanner in the works.

“It’s no secret that his legal team is working hard to get a deal where he can travel for work. They have to convince the judge that – if he does do a guilty plea deal – he is genuinely sorry.”

Last night, Bruno Mars performed a concert at London’s Cafe De Paris to celebrate the release of “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” which is now the number one album in the UK. I’ve added over 30 HQ and MQ photos to the gallery – check them out!

Congratulations, Bruno!!! “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” debuted at NO.1 on the UK album charts – at the same time that the new single “Grenade” is NO.1 on the singles chart! This is beyond amazing & we are so proud of Bruno right now.

US singer Bruno Mars has scored a double chart success, with number ones in both the singles and album charts.

His single Grenade held on to the number one spot for a second week and his album Doo-Wops and Hooligans went straight into the top spot after selling 86,000 copies.

Grenade held off Adele’s new single Rolling In The Deep – from her new album 21 – which entered at two.

Grenade is Mars’s second number one single after Just The Way You Are.

The song is still in the top 20 at number at 18.

The trio behind the song were last week named by Music Week magazine as the most successful songwriters in the UK chart in 2010.

The Smeezingtons – Mars, Ari Levine and Philip Lawrence – also co-wrote Grenade.
