Yes! The news has been confirmed! Bruno Mars will join Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye West on a super track called “Lift Off”! The rumors began to spread like wildfire yesterday, setting Twitter and other social networks a blaze and today, BET has confirmed it!

Who says pop and hip-hop can’t intertwine? Kanye West and Jay-Z have recruited Beyoncé and Bruno Mars for their new single “Lift Off.”

The song is from Kanye and Jay’s forthcoming duet album “Watch The Throne,” which was originally reported to hit shelves in March. The project’s first Lex Luger-produced single “H.A.M.” dropped a few month ago to mixed reactions, still the producer behind “Lift Off” boasts high hopes.

“When rappers hear Watch the Throne they gonn’ be pissed off. #andproducerstoo,” tweeted Jeff Bhasker, who crafted “Lift Off” alongside West.

No official release date for the latest “Watch The Throne” was released at press time.

Tonight was the night Bruno Mars performed “The Lazy Song” live on American Idol and the performance was truly epic!

Meanwhile, Mars has had his debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, reach platinum status in several parts of the world. The Recording Industry Association of America has certified the honor in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. The album has also been declared double platinum in Ireland.

Doo-Wops & Hooligans was released last October. The latest single, “The Lazy Song,” hit radio in February. It has reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Mars has reached number one with his two previous singles, “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade.”

Huge congratulations out to Bruno Mars who made the 2011 Time 100 (Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world). This is Bruno’s very first time making the list and it is very well-deserved! Check out the article they wrote up about him below.

There are a lot of people in this world who can sing and play the piano and guitar. Hell, I sing and play the piano and guitar. But there’s something different about Bruno Mars. He has a musicality, a presence in his voice that I’ve never heard from anyone else.

Bruno, 25, is part of this new wave of musicians who can do everything: sing, play, write, produce. When he performs live, nothing is prerecorded or fudged. It’s a straight-up, classic performance. That’s so rare these days. We needed only two sessions to record “Nothin’ on You.” But when we perform live is when you really see our chemistry in action. And I can’t even tell you how many times he’s made my stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Bruno is hilarious. You can see it in the hit song “F— You,” which he wrote for Cee Lo Green. That’s him; that’s his sense of humor.

Bruno has so many things open to him now, so many doorways he can walk through. Even I don’t know what he’ll be up to next.
